Yes, in Mississippi, you need a license to offer professional nail services. Our Nail Technician Program prepares you to sit for the state exam, so you can pursue your license.
Our Nail Technician Program includes a combination of theory and practical work. In general, students devote 140 hours to learning principles and techniques, such as manicuring, pedicuring, mending nails, applying artificial nails, and more.
The answer to this question depends on a number of factors. If you are primarily interested in nails and you prefer a shorter program, our Nail Technician Program could be the best choice. The Nail Technician Program offers the most advanced training related to nails. However, if you are interested in learning multiple aspects of the beauty industry, you may be a good candidate for our Cosmetology Program. As a student in the Cosmetology Program, your main focus is on hair services, but you also learn the basics of nails, skincare, and makeup. The Cosmetology Program takes longer to complete than the Nail Technician Program.
