If you are looking for a quality cosmetology education in Mississippi, you have come to the right school! Mississippi Institute’s Cosmetology Program is a 1,500-hour program that covers the skills necessary to prepare you for a career in the beauty industry. You can learn theory, science, and practical skills from instructors with years of experience in the industry. Part of the curriculum includes working in the student salon under the direct supervision of licensed instructors, so you can apply your knowledge as you provide services to clients. We use Paul Mitchell products at our cosmetology school, giving you experience with the same type of products found in high-end salons.

Student Services: We hope you feel comfortable joining our school family! Student services include personal advising to help you stay motivated and maintain a positive attitude during your educational journey. You will receive personalized attention that could help you reach your full potential as a cosmetology student!

Career Support: Get the support you need as you look forward to a career in the beauty industry. Learn job skills that prepare you for the real world. We can also prepare you for the job search by providing resume writing assistance and teaching you skills that will help you apply for a job. Upon successful completion of the Cosmetology Program, you may register for employment assistance. While we cannot guarantee employment to any student or graduate, we do offer job placement support by maintaining relationships with prospective employers who want to hire our students. Ongoing Enrollment

New classes begin on the first Tuesday of every month. This means you can begin the enrollment process whenever you are ready! Classes are held Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. You could complete the Cosmetology Program in as little as 47 weeks.

Is financial aid available?

Financial aid is available to those who qualify. The first step toward finding out what you qualify for is filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). Let our financial aid team know if you have any questions.

Will I get a license after graduation?

Our Cosmetology Training Program prepares you to sit for the state exam, so that you can pursue your cosmetology license after graduating from the program.

Can I work while attending school?

Some of our students work while attending school. Contact us to ask about part-time schedules.

Is housing available on campus?

No, there is no housing on campus.

How do I know if this program is right for me?
